A brief Q & A opportunity for us to discuss Catholic Theology questions in a friendly format. This is NOT the final word-just a friendly discussion with the accent on amateur...
I just read Matthew 5:27-32 "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall not commit adultery.' But I say to you, everyone who looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart. If your right eye causes you to sin, tear it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one of your members than to have your whole body thrown into Gehenna. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one of your members than to have your whole body go into Gehenna. "It was also said, 'Whoever divorces his wife must give her a bill of divorce.' But I say to you, whoever divorces his wife (unless the marriage is unlawful) causes her to commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery. I also found this on the USCCB website:http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/pt3sect2chpt2art6.htmWe are ALL called to lead "Chaste Lives" no matter our vocation, married, single, or religious. This seems to address your question, Gina. I hope it helps. Linda
thank you. that was my opinion as well. it totally blew me away to read this article. i keep thinking i must've read something wrong, because i can't believe they were saying that sex outside marriage is okay. that's why i wanted someone elses opinion.
